Pinebrook Stormwater Diversion

Overview

Pinebrook stormwater diversion project is funded by the County and Alberta Transportation. A proposed plan includes use of 101 Street owned by the City of Calgary. The Community of Pinebrook has had historical flooding issues with large areas upstream draining through the development. The plan is to divert water that conveyed through the development along Lower Springbank Road and 101 Street to a culvert crossing at Highway 8. The proposed diversion does not increase flow rates or volume to Highway 8 under normal or a major rainfall event.

Project Timeline

Projected completion end of October 2023.
