Agriculture Master Plan

The Agriculture Master Plan guides agricultural growth and diversification in Rocky View County.

The Agriculture Master Plan [PDF/11MB] (PDF) identifies a long-term vision for supporting both existing agricultural operations and providing new opportunities for diversification of the County’s agriculture sector. In addition, it informs future planning decisions and policy development related to the agriculture industry.

The plan was approved by Council on July 8, 2025, and includes recommendations to fulfill its vision for the future.

Vision

Rocky View County is a community where agriculture is valued and respected. The agriculture industry is flourishing through innovation and diversification and is promoted and recognized as vital to the County’s social, economic and ecological integrity.

Engagement

Thank you to everyone who took the time to share their input on the Agriculture Master Plan. Your feedback has played a critical role in helping the County understand community perspectives on agriculture.

The County has published a What We Heard report summarizing the feedback received through public engagement. We encourage residents to review the report to learn about the key themes and ideas shared by the community, all of which directly contributed to shaping the new Agriculture Master Plan.  Details on the engagement to get to our new Master Plan can be found at engage.rockyview.ca.
