At the July 7, 2026 Council meeting, Administration presented the findings from Phase 1 of the South Glenmore Area Redevelopment Plan project. Council directed Administration to proceed with the following:
- Revising the South Glenmore project boundary to focus on parcels accessing Range Road 282 and removing parcels accessing Glenmore View Road from the business-focused area;
- Amending the Land Use Bylaw to establish a new overlay for all lots within the Sunshine Road area, in accordance with specific principles;
- Amending the Land Use Bylaw to redesignate parcels currently designated as Business, Live-Work back to Residential, Rural land use district;
- Amending the Land Use Bylaw to remove the ability for all other parcels in the South Glenmore area to redesignate to the Business, Live-Work land use district;
- Refunding all applicable fees for applications submitted in the South Glenmore Area that are currently under administrative review;
- Directing Administration to look into matters of non-compliance with Rocky View County bylaws within the South Glenmore Area; and
- Continuing to investigate the creation of a Local Improvement Plan to support necessary upgrades to Range Road 282.

Next Steps
Following Council’s direction, County staff will proceed with the actions identified in Attachment A and will report back to Council before the end of Q4 2026.

On May 6, 2025, Council directed Administration to craft a Terms of Reference to initiate a land use plan for the South Glenmore area to provide statutory policy guidance for planning and development decisions.
