Conrich is named after two real estate developers: Connacher and Richardson. It was initially used as a flag stop for the railway, using a box car as the first rail station.

In 1913 a platform was constructed to provide farmers a place to load their grain instead of hauling it to Calgary. It was no longer necessary to manually load grain in 1918 as the Independent Grain Company elevator was established. A school was built in Conrich in 1955 to replace Rockland, Glenville and Buttes Schools.

In 2011, ground breaking began in Conrich for the 680 acre CN Calgary Logistics Park.
