Update #1 - Bragg Creek Water Restrictions
Rocky View County has identified a significant water loss in the Bragg Creek water system.
County staff are actively working to isolate the cause, and the repair timeline is unknown. The ongoing water loss is placing increased demand on the treatment facility and available licensed water supply.
To protect system capacity and maintain a reliable potable water supply while investigations continue, Rocky View County will implement Level 1 water restrictions for the Bragg Creek Hamlet, Wintergreen, and Elkana Estates, effective Friday, August 28, 2026, until further notice.
Level 1 restrictions limit outdoor watering to designated days based on civic address and encourage residents to reduce non-essential water use. Administration will continue to monitor system demand, treatment capacity, and water supply availability and will assess whether additional measures are required.
Discretionary (outdoor) Level 1 water restrictions:
Residential potable water customers are required to follow this outdoor watering schedule:
- Even-numbered properties: Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays
- Odd-numbered properties: Tuesday’s, Thursdays and Saturdays
- Automatic irrigation system timers - between midnight and 6 a.m.
- Manual sprinklers – between 6 a.m. to 10 a.m. or 7 p.m. to midnight.
- Outdoor hand watering may occur outside set hours on your watering days.
- Watering new grass, shrubs and trees are exempt from this outdoor water use.
Rocky View County will continue to monitor system conditions and provide updates to affected customers and as conditions change, including if additional conservation measures are required and when restrictions can be lifted.
Thank you for helping conserve our community's water supply.
