Agricultural Waste & Recycling at Rocky View County

Alberta’s agricultural community can take advantage of the Ag-Plastic Recycle It Program, operated by Cleanfarms Inc., by bringing  recyclable materials such as grain bags, barbed wire, oil, paint, tires and twine to the special  Rocky View County Ag Roundups or throughout the summer at various transfer sites locations (details on accepted and unaccepted materials and locations can be found here ➡  https://www.rockyview.ca/agriculture-roundups).

However, empty chemical containers are no longer accepted at Ag Roundups or the County’s transfer sites. These should be returned to the retailer or point of purchase for recycling under Cleanfarms' specific program. For any inquiries about the empty chemical container recycling program, Cleanfarms should be contacted directly at Alberta Programs & Events – Cleanfarms

It is important to note that certain materials, such as bale wrap and silage tarps, are not recyclable and must be disposed of as garbage at one of the County’s transfer sites or chuck wagon locations, where applicable disposal fees apply. For guidance on proper disposal of various items, residents are encouraged to use the Rocky View County Waste Guide app,- or the website.
