Water Utilities Locate Request

Rocky View County is now a member of Utility Safety Partners (formerly Alberta One-Call).

When you submit a request, notification is sent to all utility owners who are members of Utility Safety Partners. These members will respond if their underground infrastructure may be affected by your planned work.

What Rocky View County Can Locate

Rocky View County can provide information only on the underground utilities that we own and maintain:

  • Water systems
  • Sanitary sewer systems
  • Stormwater systems

Our response will typically include a map and available as-built drawings.

Other Utility Owners

All other utilities (such as natural gas, electricity, or telecommunications) are the responsibility of their respective owners (e.g., Telus, Bell, Fortis, ATCO). These utility companies will respond to your locate request separately.

Some utility providers—such as water co-ops or irrigation companies—may not be members of Utility Safety Partners. You must contact these organizations directly for any locate information related to their infrastructure.

Private Property

Rocky View County does not provide locate services on private property.
If you need information about underground lines on private land, you may wish to contact a private locate company.

Understanding Your Locate Ticket

After submitting your request:

  • The list of affected utility owners will appear on the left-hand side of your ticket under “Stations Affected List.”
  • Rocky View County will appear as “RVCOUNTY.”

Important Notice

This information is provided for your convenience. It remains your responsibility to ensure all underground utilities are properly located before starting any excavation, construction, or ground disturbance.

Rocky View County is not liable for any damage or loss resulting from work conducted without proper utility locates.

We recommend using a hydrovac to daylight (expose) underground lines and confirm their exact location prior to digging.
