Rocky View County strives to provide the safest roads possible for all users by proactively applying the most appropriate engineering, enforcement, education and evaluation practices.

Rocky View County’s current traffic safety plan concentrates on five specific areas of concern which are enforced on a daily basis on all Primary and Secondary highways, and County roads, including:

  • speeding
  • stop sign violations
  • seat belt use
  • distracted driving
  • commercial vehicle weight and dimension violations

In addition, the County enforces road bans to improve road safety.

County Enforcement Services staff also participate in check stop programs throughout the year with partner enforcement agencies including the local RCMP, Calgary Police Service, Alberta Sheriffs, Commercial Vehicle Enforcement, and Alberta Fish and Wildlife.
