Northbound and southbound traffic speeds will be reduced to 50km/h through the detour to ensure the safety of commuters and construction crews. The public can expect minor delays for short periods during the construction of the detour and in particular, for the construction and paving of the tie-ins, before the traffic shift is implemented.

During paving of the detour, flaggers will be present to assist in directing traffic, and to limit travel disruptions.

Once implemented, the detour posted speed reduction will be 50km/h for approximately 500 metres of Highway 22.

The work is being completed by Graham Construction & Engineering Inc. & Vinci Infrastructure on behalf of the Alberta Transportation’s SR1 Project. Inquiries can be directed to Hubert LeMiere of Vinci Infrastructure Canada Limited at 1-306-209-2121 or Hubert.LeMiere@vinci-construction.com.
