Noise Notification for PERSIST Oil and Gas Inc. 07-16-025-05W5M

Location: Range Road 54, South of Hwy 1A (view map)

Timeframe: March 2023

Description: PERSIST Oil and Gas Inc. will be performing a “generator installation and other equipment” operation at its facility located within 07-16-025-05W5M. Please see location map below. Woodland Road Upgrades

Location: Woodland Road, south of Highway 1A  (view map)

Timeframe: Tree clearing early March 2023. Road work April to September 2023

Description: In partnership with the City of Calgary, the County is upgrading Woodland Road to provide access to Haskayne Legacy Park. Scope of work includes paving and guardrail installation. The work will require intermittent lane closures. Drivers can expect minor delays. Please watch for workers and signage. Highway 22 - Notice of Controlled Fire

Location: Highway 22 and Highway 8 roundabout (view map)

Timeframe: First 3 weeks of February

Description: The Springbank Off-stream Reservoir project is conducting intermittent controlled burn operations, 500 metres west of the Highway 22 intersection roundabout with Highway 8, during the first three weeks of February. Residents and public users of Highway 8 and Highway 22 can expect to see smoke and may experience visibility limitations at this location while burning is ongoing. Township Road 232 Bridge Replacement

Location: Township Road 232 at Range Road 275 (view map)

Timeframe: January 4, 2023 to February 28, 2023

Description: Bridge replacement work. The work will require decommissioning of the bridge and a detour will be in place. Please watch for workers and signage. Site Access to McKinnon Flats Closed

Location: Access Road to McKinnon Flats recreational area at south end of Range Road 274 south of Hwy 22X (view map)

Timeframe: November 1, 2022 to April 15, 2023

Description: Access road to McKinnon Flats recreational area at south end of Range Road 274 is closed to all users for the winter season. Access road is not maintained during winter months. Bridge Construction Work on Stoney Trail

Location: Highway 201 (Stoney Trail) and 80th Avenue NE (view map)

Timeframe: August 8, 2022 to November 1, 2023

Description: Bridge construction work being conducted by Alberta Transportation. The work will impact both north & southbound Highway 201 (Stoney Tr.) West Ring Road - 101 Street to Highway 8 Closure

Location: Between Lower Springbank Road and Highway 8 (view map)

Timeframe: September 17, 2021 until Highway 8 interchange is complete

Description: As construction on the West Calgary Ring Road continues, access at Highway 8 and 101 Street will close permanently in mid-September. The permanent closure is required due to ongoing concerns about unsafe U-turns on Highway 8. The intersection was scheduled to be closed this fall to allow for construction of the interchange in the Highway 8 and Stoney Trail area. Alberta Transportation will be implementing the full closure of the Highway 8 and 101 Street intersection on Friday, September 17th. As of this date, this intersection will close permanently. On-site signage and marked detours are deployed onsite to provide advanced warning and help drivers navigate through this area. Until construction of the West Calgary Ring Road is completed, alternate north-south routes include 69th Street, Sarcee Trail and Highway 22 (Cowboy Trail). Old Banff Coach Road, Township Road 242 (17th Avenue) and the Trans-Canada Highway (16th Avenue) are available east-west connections into the city. Drivers will need to adjust their commutes accordingly, allow additional time to navigate through construction zones, and reference City of Calgary Traffic Map and 511 Alberta before traveling.

Road Closure on Stage Coach Lane at Township Road 264

Location: Sharp Hills (view map)

Timeframe: June 6, 2022 to Fall 2023

Description: Stage Coach Trail North of Township Road 264 will be temporarily closed as a result of the permanent closure of Range Road 294 (Kingsview Rd SE) North of Township Road 264. The closure of Stage Coach Trail will be in place until the completion of the 40th Ave Interchange and be restricted to emergency access only. Access to the Sharp Hill community will be via Yankee Valley Blvd and Kingsview Blvd through Airdrie.

Construction of the 40th Ave interchange is expected to take 18 months and is scheduled to be completed in October of 2023. At this time Rocky View County will plan to remove the emergency gate and monitor traffic utilizing the Sharp Hills community to understand potential impacts to the Sharp Hills Community.

Highway 22 Detour for SR1 Bridge Construction

Location: Highway 22 between Township Road 242 and Springbank Road (view map)

Timeframe: May 2, 2022 to October 20, 2025

Description: Construction on the Highway 22 bridge detour will begin the week of May 30 to allow for bridge construction along the original Highway 22 road alignment over the future diversion channel.

The detour will be built on the east side of Highway 22. Bridge construction is located midway between Springbank Road and Highway 8, along Highway 22.

Northbound and southbound traffic speeds will be reduced to 50km/h through the detour to ensure the safety of commuters and construction crews. The public can expect minor delays for short periods during the construction of the detour and in particular, for the construction and paving of the tie-ins, before the traffic shift is implemented.

During paving of the detour, flaggers will be present to assist in directing traffic, and to limit travel disruptions.

Once implemented, the detour posted speed reduction will be 50km/h for approximately 500 metres of Highway 22.

Township Road 242 Detour for SR1 Bridge Construction

Location: On Township Road 242 west of Highway 22 (view map)

Timeframe: April 18, 2022 to September 29, 2023

Description: The work consists of constructing an onsite detour along Township Road 242 and construction of an bridge for the SR1 project. The work is being completed by Graham Construction & Engineering Inc. and Vinci Infrastructure on behalf of the Alberta Transportation’s SR1 Project. Motorists can expect minor delays. Please respect all posted signage and watch for workers. Permanent Closure: Range Road 294 at Sharp Hills Way

Description: Range Road 294 at Sharp Hills Way will be permanently closed effective April 14, 2022. Please refer to the attached map for details on accessing the City of Airdrie using Range Road 294. QEII Highway Interchange (City of Airdrie)

Location: 40 Avenue and QEII Highway

Timeframe: Spring 2021 to Fall 2023

Description: The 40th Ave Interchange is a key component to the ultimate transportation network. The additional network capacity will reduce traffic congestion along existing arterial corridors, including access to QEII.
