Bridge Maintenance Work

Location: On Township Road 261A west of Symons Valley Road (view map)

Timeframe: November 30 to December 4, 2020

Description: Work includes refurbishing the timber bridge rails and addressing the bridge approach transitions. The work will require intermittent single lane closures. Please respect all posted signage and watch for workers. Inquiries can be directed to Samuel Leung at 403-520-3994.


Underground Utilities Work

Location: Along Dwight McLellan Trail between Crossiron Drive and 144 Avenue (view map)

Timeframe: August 17 to November 30, 2020

Description: Diversion of north and southbound traffic over the northbound lanes of Dwight McLellan Trail. Work includes open cut installation of storm, water and sanitary services with associated remediation of the road and boulevard. Pertinent signage will be implemented for the duration of the work. Motorists can expect delays. Please respect all posted signage and watch for workers. This work is being done by Whissell Contracting Ltd. on behalf of the Developer. Bridge Sized Culvert Replacement

Location: On Range Road 265 north of Township Road 262 (view map)

Timeframe: November 5 to early December 2020

Description: Work includes removal of existing bridge sized culvert and installation of new bridge sized culvert including road improvements. The work requires a full road closure for the duration of the work. Access to Range Road 265 between Township Road 262 and 264 will be maintained for local traffic only. Please respect all posted signage and watch for workers. Inquiries can be directed to the County’s consultant McIntosh Perry at 403-589-8794 (Kurt Alksne – Project Manager).

Timeframe: October 26 to late November 2020

Description: Work includes removal of existing bridge sized culvert and installation of new bridge sized culvert including road improvements. The work requires a full road closure for the duration of the work, with a signed detour route in place. Access to Township Road 274 between Range Road 282 and Highway 791 will be maintained for local traffic only. Please respect all posted signage and watch for workers. Road Closure for Utility Work on Range Road 294

Location: Range Road 294 between Highway 566 and Township Road 263 (view map)

Timeframe: October 21 to December 18, 2020

Description: Work includes open cut installation of a water and wastewater service tie-in with associated remediation of the road. Work will require a full road closure of north and southbound Range Road 294 between Highway 566 and Township Road 263. A full detour route with pertinent signage and message boards will be implemented for the duration of the work. Motorists can expect minimal delays. Please respect all posted signage and watch for workers. This work is being done by contractor Blue-Con Excavating Ltd. on behalf of the County. Site Access to McKinnon Flats Closed

Location: Access Road to McKinnon Flats recreational area at south end of Range Road 274 south of Hwy 22X (view map)

Timeframe: September 8, 2020 to April 15, 2021

Description: Access road to McKinnon Flats recreational area at south end of Range Road 274 is closed to all users due to construction. Construction will include access road upgrades and reclamation. Horse Creek Road Improvements

Location: Horse Creek Road between Township Road 262 and Heritage Blvd. (view map)

Timeframe: May – December 2020

Description: The community developer is improving the section of Horse Creek Road located within the Town of Cochrane. The work requires a full road closure for the duration of the work, with a signed detour route in place. Please respect all posted signage and watch for workers. West Calgary Ring Road Construction Project

Location: Bordering Calgary between Highway 8 and Highway 1 (view map)

Timeframe: Spring 2019 – Fall 2022

Description: Work on roads with Rocky View County is not expected to begin until 2020, however the impact on Provincial Highways and City of Calgary roads bordering Rocky View County may affect residents of Rocky View County. Inquires/concerns can be directed to the Project website or 780-644-5612. Traffic updates, construction updates, alignment plans, etc. can also be found on the project website.


Southwest Calgary Ring Road Construction Project

Location: Southwest Calgary bordering Rocky View County (view map)

Timeframe: Early 2017 to Fall 2021

Description: No work on Rocky View County roads is expected at this time, however the impact on area Provincial Highways and City of Calgary roads bordering Rocky View County may impact residents of Rocky View County.
