Rocky View County Adopts New Agriculture Master Plan

July 9, 2025 – Rocky View County Council has approved a new Agriculture Master Plan, a strategic document that outlines a long-term vision for agriculture and land use planning in the County. The plan establishes goals for future growth, supports innovation, and provides a roadmap to support the needs and priorities of the agricultural community from 2026 – 2036.

“This plan lays a strong foundation to support producers, protect farmland, and ensure that agriculture remains central to our County,” said Councillor Greg Boehlke, Chair of the Agricultural Service Board. “We’re grateful to everyone who took the time to share their insights; your input has shaped the actions within the Agriculture Master Plan to help the County support producers now and into the future.”

Through open houses, surveys, workshops, and one-on-one conversations, community members identified key priorities such as rural infrastructure, flexible housing options, and improved communication.
