Rocky View County Releases Draft Municipal Development Plan for Public Feedback

Planning for growth and development has consistently been identified as a top priority by residents in Rocky View County’s annual Citizen Satisfaction Surveys. Now, the County is inviting residents to help shape its future by reviewing and providing feedback on the draft Municipal Development Plan (MDP).

The MDP outlines a long-term vision for how Rocky View County will grow and develop over time. It integrates guidance from the current County Plan (2013) and incorporates feedback gathered during earlier engagement phases.

How to Get Involved

Residents are encouraged to provide their input on the draft MDP through a variety of engagement opportunities happening until June 1, 2025:

1. Read the Plan and Complete an Online Survey

Visit the Your View MDP Engagement Page to read the draft plan and submit your feedback through the online survey.

2. Attend an Open House

Meet with County staff, ask questions, and share your thoughts in person at one of the following events:

  • Bearspaw — Monday, May 12, 4:00–7:00 p.m. @ RockPointe Church
  • Langdon — Tuesday, May 13, 3:30–6:30 p.m. @ The Track

  • Survey questions
  • Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

Review the materials on your own or gather friends and neighbours for a group discussion and submit your collective feedback.

What’s Next?

Feedback will be accepted until June 1, 2025. A What We Heard report will be prepared based on community input, and a final version of the Municipal Development Plan will be presented to Council at a Public Hearing in Summer 2025.
