Survey Results Show Strong Quality of Life in Rocky View County

Residents continue to report a strong quality of life in Rocky View County, according to the results of the 2026 Citizen Satisfaction Survey.

The survey, conducted by independent research firm Leger, gathered feedback from 1,489 residents across all seven divisions between February and March 2026. The findings provide valuable insight into resident perspectives on quality of life, County services, growth, and community priorities.

Nearly nine in ten residents, 89 per cent, rated their quality of life as good or very good, exceeding the Alberta benchmark of 68 per cent.

The survey also showed that residents are actively involved in their communities, with 64 per cent reporting participation in at least one County public engagement activity within the last three years.

Residents identified several County strengths, including snow and ice control, fire services and emergency preparedness, and County information services. Overall satisfaction with County service delivery also continued to improve.

While the results were positive overall, residents identified growth management, planning, and development as important priorities. Many respondents expressed a desire to see growth balanced with the preservation of Rocky View County’s rural character and supported by appropriate infrastructure and services.

Residents also indicated they would like more information about development decisions, the factors considered during decision-making, and how those decisions may affect their communities.

The Citizen Satisfaction Survey is conducted every two years and serves as an important tool for understanding resident perspectives and tracking changes over time. The findings will help inform future County priorities, budgeting, planning, service delivery, and communication efforts.

Rocky View County extends its thanks to the 1,489 residents who took the time to participate and share their feedback.
