Rocky View County road crews will begin installing temporary snow fencing this week on County roads. This fencing helps reduce snow drifts on the road.
Snow fences are typically:
- Installed before ground frost sets too deep
- Placed 25 to 35 metres from the edge of the road
- Stand 1.2 metres tall
The County will notify affected landowners to let them know if road crews need to enter private property to install a temporary snow fence. Crews will not enter lands where obvious farming is underway.
