January 21, 2026 – Rocky View County Fire Services recognized members for years of service milestones, provincial service recognition, and federal exemplary service awards during its annual Service Recognition Awards ceremony held Saturday, January 17.

The event brought together Fire Services members, families, and County leadership to celebrate the commitment behind public safety, including the training, readiness, and teamwork that support emergency response across the County.

“Today we recognized the dedication and professionalism that residents count on every day,” said Reeve Sunny Samra. “These milestones represent years of service, sacrifice, and commitment and Council extends its appreciation to our Fire Services members and their families and loved ones for supporting this important work.”

Awards recognized service milestones from October 1, 2023 to December 31, 2025, including County long service pins, Alberta Emergency Service Medals and Service Bars, and Fire Services Exemplary Service medals at the federal level.

“Every year, this ceremony is a reminder of the caliber of service and character within Rocky View County Fire Services,” said Fire Chief Ken Hubbard. “Our members show up with professionalism and compassion, and they also look for ways to strengthen our organization and better serve residents. Congratulations to all recipients, and thank you for your continued commitment to our communities.”

The ceremony also included presentation of the 2024 and 2025 Distinguished Service Awards, recognizing extraordinary contributions that go above and beyond normal duties and have a meaningful positive impact on Fire Services, colleagues, and the communities served.
