From June 15 to 17, 2025, G7 leaders will gather in Kananaskis, Alberta, as Canada assumes the G7 presidency.
Although Rocky View County is not a designated location for activities related to the G7 Leaders’ Summit, our residents may be interested in the event and its impacts, given our proximity to the host locations.

- A community information centre has been established at the Stoney Nakoda Resort & Casino, located at the intersection of the Trans-Canada Highway and Highway 40, approximately 75 km west of Calgary.

Rocky View County Fire Services will continue normal operations during the G7 Summit, with a temporary increase in staffing at the Springbank Fire Station as a precaution to ensure readiness for any potential increase in emergency response along Highway 1.
We encourage residents to stay informed and plan accordingly if traveling through neighboring areas during the event.
