Funding 101 Webinar Series: Agricultural Funding Opportunities for Producers

Funding 101 is a free webinar series hosted by a collaborative group of Alberta agricultural organizations, designed to help producers better understand upcoming agricultural funding opportunities and how to prepare for them.

Delivered by organizations that work directly with producers across the province, the series provides practical overviews of key programs, including the On-Farm Climate Action Fund (OFCAF), water-related programs, and regionally available funding opportunities. These sessions focus on program expectations, eligibility, and application considerations to support informed planning and decision-making.

All sessions begin at 12:00 p.m. (noon).


Session 1: CFGA – On-Farm Climate Action Fund (OFCAF)

February 12

This webinar will focus on the Canadian Forage and Grassland Association’s (CFGA) On-Farm Climate Action Fund (OFCAF), including an overview of the application process and program expectations.

Applications opened February 1st.


Session 2: RDAR – On-Farm Climate Action Fund (OFCAF)

February 19

This session will provide an overview of RDAR-administered OFCAF programming. Additional topics include PREP funding, ARGO application tips, and other RDAR programs relevant to producers.


Session 3: Water Programs

February 26

This session will cover available Water Programs, including key regulatory considerations producers should be aware of.


Session 4: Regional Funding Overview

March 5

This session will begin with an Alberta-wide overview of funding programs, followed by a breakdown of regionally applicable opportunities and a question-and-answer period.


About the Hosts & Registration

This webinar series is delivered collaboratively by several producer-focused organizations, including Central Alberta Forage and Livestock Association (CAFLA), Chinook Applied Research Association (CARA), Farming Forward, Foothills Forage and Grazing Association (FFGA), Gateway Research Organization (GRO), and Lakeland Agricultural Research Association (LARA). Together, these organizations bring regional expertise and practical experience to support producers navigating funding programs.
