Fire Services Welcomes Recruit Class of 2026

Rocky View County Fire Services proudly celebrated the graduation of its newest class of part-time firefighters during a ceremony held Friday, June 26 at Station 107.

The ceremony recognized the dedication, commitment, and achievements of the Rocky View County Fire Services Recruit Class of 2026 as they completed their training and prepared to begin serving residents across the County.

Family members, friends, Fire Services leadership, instructors, mentors, County representatives, and members of the organization gathered to mark this important milestone.

Following remarks from Acting Chief Administrative Officer Brian Henderson, Acting Chief Operating Officer Jeff Fleischer, Acting Fire Chief Jon Evans, recruit instructor Lieutenant Colby Brown, and a Project All In coin presentation led by Platoon Chief Gregg Schaalje, graduates were individually recognized through the presentation of helmets, coins, and station assignments. The ceremony also included presentation of the Top Recruit Award to 

Rocky View County Fire Services operates as a composite team, made up of full-time, part-time, and paid-per-call firefighters serving communities across the County. This service model is essential in supporting a large and diverse municipality that includes hamlets, rural areas, agricultural lands, business centres, growing neighbourhoods, and major transportation corridors.

Fire Services responds to a wide range of emergencies, including structure fires, grass fires, motor vehicle collisions, medical emergencies, hazardous material incidents, water and ice rescues, and other calls for service. The department also supports fire prevention, education, permitting, fire code compliance, inspections, and fire investigations.

As Rocky View County continues to grow, the role of Fire Services remains vital to community safety, emergency preparedness, and public service.
