The Farmer Pesticide Certification course is a tool intended to help producers reduce the risks associated with pesticide use while promoting safe and responsible handling practices.
This course is recommended under the Alberta Environmental Farm Plan (EFP) but is also mandatory for farmers who wish to use restricted pesticides that require certification such as Aluminum phosphide or Compound 1080 (sodium fluoracetate). The free online home study of the course prior to the workshop would be beneficial. The home study is located at this link or Lakeland College under Farmer Pesticide training.
