Ready to design a yard that feels intentional and beautifully balanced? This beginner-friendly workshop will guide you through the foundations of landscape design and help you start creating a plan tailored to your own space.

What you'll learn

  • Principles of design (unity, balance, scale, rhythm, and form)
  • Colour theory and plant material function
  • The step-by-step design process: site analysis, base maps, bubble diagrams, and concept planning
  • How to confidently select plant material
  • You’ll also begin sketching ideas for your own yard during class, with guided instruction and time for questions.

What to bring

  • A real property report or
  • A sketch of your yard with basic measurements
  • We will photocopy it for you so you can sketch directly on the copy during the workshop.
  • All materials and workshop supplies are included. Blue Grass reserves the right to cancel the workshop within 48 hours due to low enrollment. Picture is a representation and not the final product.
