The Langdon Site, is a 45 acre parcel of land located south of Railway Avenue (Township Road 233A) and west of Centre Street (formerly Highway 797). This Education and Recreational site will house the Horseshoe High School, the Iron Horse Fields quad diamonds and the future Langdon Recreation Centre.
2021- Rocky View County constructed Iron Horse Fields, a quad ball diamond facility. It is operated by Langdon Little League.
2023 - Rocky View Schools constructed a new high school, Horseshoe Crossing, on the site.
2024 - Rocky View County has committed to building a recreational centre in Langdon. Read the Langdon Recreation Centre Feasibility Study.
Project update
- A preliminary concept for the facility was approved on February 1, 2023 at the Recreation Governance Committee. This concept includes:
- Fieldhouse
- Hall
- Library
- Multipurpose room
- Studio
- Seniors activity space
- Indoor track
- Lease space
- Office and boardroom
- Rocky View County has secured funding in the 2024 Budget for groundwork studies and preliminary planning necessary to construct the Langdon Recreation Centre.
- The capital funding has not been secured at this time.
- Read the Recreation Master Plan and the Recreational Needs Assessment for background.

The project is currently estimated at $32 million.
