How to be Notified

  1. On your phone, download the free Alberta Emergency Alerts app. It will be the first thing you hear about threats to life. You can pick the communities you'd like to be notified about.
  2. Follow the County’s social media channels: Facebook and Instagram
  3. Look to our website news page for updates.
  4. Sign up for emails through Safe and Sound.

What is SAFE & SOUND?

Rocky View County's uses Safe and Safe to send notices to subscribers. 

  • SAFE Communities is for County emergency alerts. It helps us contact you in a crisis - any emergency that might impact you or your family. The County will use your contact information to reach you with important information about what’s happening and any steps you need to take to protect you or your family.
    We’ll use all your phone numbers, e-mail addresses, or text message numbers to reach you.
  • SOUND Communication is for information on important County activities in your area. The County can provide with updates on road closures, development applications, fire bans, bylaw changes, and more. For non-emergency information, only your primary e-mail address to send you a message when there’s information to share on the topics you’ve chosen to sign up for.
