Calgary run project - 12 Mile Coulee Road and Tusslewood Drive NW

Timeframe:  Tentatively scheduled to start Oct 27, 2025

Description: The City of Calgary is planning to install a traffic signal at the intersection of 12 Mile Coulee Road and Tusslewood Drive NW. Some of the new signal infrastructure will be constructed in portions of the ROW that are within Rocky View County.


Construction on Burma Road and on the east side of 12 Mile Coulee Road

Location: Along the south side of Burma Road, west of Range Road 25 and on the east side of 12 Mile Coulee Road, north of Aspen Drive (view map)

Timeframe: Construction is expected to begin October 14 and continue until December 14, weather permitting.

Description: The Meadow Drive Stormwater management system, Phase 2 and 3 are the next phases of the Meadow Drive Stormwater system. These projects will provide new stormwater outlets for the Traplow wetlands, which currently impact County infrastructure and adjacent landowners during heavy rain events. Whissell Contracting, on behalf of Rocky View County. During construction, equipment and crews will be active on the road. The speed limit will be temporarily reduced to 50 km/h, and traffic may be intermittently disrupted. Please drive with caution, watch for workers, and follow all posted signage. Springbank Road & Range Road 31 Roundabout

Location: Springbank Road & Range Road 31 Intersection (view map)

Timeframe: July 7 to October 11, 2025

Description: The intersection will be closed to complete construction of a roundabout. Please follow detour signage and watch for workers. The attached map shows recommended detour routes to and from the Provincial Highways. Highway Construction Notification

Location: Highway 2 from south of Stoney Trail to Highway 567 (Northbound & Southbound Lanes),  (view map)

Timeframe: August 5 - September 29 - November 15, 2025

Description: Alberta Transportation and Economic Corridors will be completing roadway construction. Drivers can expect various detours and lane closures. Please follow posted signage. Rocky View Water Co-op Waterline Repair Work

Location: Bearspaw Rd, S of Biggar Heights Bay (view map)

Timeframe: October 8 to 9, 2025

Description: Rocky View Water Co-op will be completing watermain repair work along the east ditch of Bearspaw Road. There will be no lane closures; however, crews will be working on the road shoulder and ditch. The speed limit will be temporarily reduced from 80 km/h to 50 km/h. Highway 8 - Eastbound Elbow River Bridge Improvements

Timeframe:  August 5 - September 29 - November 15, 2025

Description: Alberta Transportation and Economic Corridors will be completing construction on the Elbow River Bridge on Highway 8. Please watch for signs and workers. Town of Cochrane vac truck operation on RR32 -SBL Closure  

Location: Range Road 32, N of Twp Rd 250 (view map)

Timeframe: October 10 and 22nd, 2025(2 separate day) 05:30 to 19:00

Description: KIDCO, on behalf of the Town of Cochrane, will be completing wastewater disposal work using a vac truck at the forcemain discharge manhole on Range Road 32. There will be a southbound lane closure with alternating one-lane traffic under flagger control. Equipment and crews will be working on the road, and the speed limit will be temporarily reduced to 50 km/h. Please watch for signage and workers in the area. Township Road 250 Reopened to One-Lane Alternating Traffic - Light Vehicles Only

Location: Township Road 250 between Highway 9 & Range Road 273 (view map)

Timeframe: June 23 - TBD

Description: Township Road 250, between Highway 9 and Range Road 273, has reopened to one-lane alternating traffic for light vehicles only. Heavy vehicles, including tractor trailers and loads exceeding standard weight limits, are not permitted at this time. This traffic disruption is expected to remain in effect until the washed out culvert can be replaced which is tentatively scheduled for latter part of Autumn 2025.Please obey all traffic signals and signage in the area. Traffic Disruption Notice for the Purpose of Yellowstone Intersection FAC

Location: Dwight McLellan Trail & Nose Creek Blvd  (view map)

Timeframe: 8AM - 7PM from October 2, 2025 to October 16, 2025

Description:  The southbound right lane at the intersection of Dwight McLellan Trail and Nose Creek Blvd will be closed to complete concrete replacement. Please watch for workers and equipment on the road, and obey all traffic signs and flaggers. Bragg Creek Private Event

  • Monday, October 6, in the evening, work vehicles will park in the vacant lots south and north of River Dr S. Once filming has completed on Tuesday, all of the work vehicles will vacate the area.
  • 08:00 AM to 10:00 AM - Bragg Creek Community Centre - 23 White Ave
  • 10:00 AM to 02:00 PM - EXP Realty - 11 River Dr S. Traffic control on River Dr S. Traffic will only be held for a maximum of five minutes at a time and will be performed by flag trained and certified personnel.

Bearspaw and Burma Road Intersection Lighting

Description: Can-traffic Services Ltd. will be completing delineation lighting at the intersection of Bearspaw Rd and Burma Rd. The lighting will increase the safety of the intersection. The work may require partial lane closures, please watch for equipment and workers on the road, and obey all traffic signage or flaggers. We appreciate your patience during this work. Township Road 252, east of Highway 9, Dalroy – Power Pole Relocations

Description: Fortis will be completing the relocation of power poles along Township Road 252. The work may impact traffic with partial road closures at times. Please watch for equipment and workers on road, and obey all traffic signage or flaggers. Langdon Park, Parking Lot Paving

Location: Langdon Park, 344 Centre Street NE (view map)

Timeframe: September 18, 2025 to October 23, 2025

Description: The Langdon Park parking lot will be closed for the duration of the project. Residents should anticipate heavy truck traffic entering and leaving the site, and heavy equipment and crews working within. Partial road lane and pathway closures on Centre Street should be anticipated for a stormwater tie-in September 25 – 30. Please watch for equipment and workers on road and obey all traffic signage. Township Road 261A Bridge Replacement (Bridge File 74101)

Description: Township Road 261A between Symons Valley Road (Highway 772) and Range Road 22 (69 St NW) will be closed to complete replacement of the existing bridge with a bridge culvert. Campbell Drive Improvements

Description: Road widening of Campbell Drive. Residents may experience some delays on Campbell Drive and at the intersection with Bearspaw Road. Please obey signage and watch for workers. Dual Watermain Construction on Cochrane Lake West Road and Sheriff Road

Location: South side of Cochrane Lake West Road between RR43 and Sheriff Road & East side of Sheriff Road between Cochrane Lake West Road and Montenaro Bay (view map)

Timeframe: September 2nd, 2025 to October 6th, 2025

Description: Work includes installation of a 250mm dual watermain along the south side Cochrane Lake West Road between RR43 and Sheriff Road. Installation continues north along the east side Sheriff Road upto Montenaro Bay. Work will be done in Four stages and the details of traffic disruption are shown in four illustrations below. Cochrane Lake West Road will be partially closed at each stage. Sheriff Road will be closed partially at each stage. Range Road 34

Location: Range Road 34 between Springbank Road and the Elbow River (view map)

Timeframe: Summer 2025 to Fall 2026

Description: Improvement of Range Road 34 to a paved standard between Springbank Road and the southern point near the Elbow River. Upgrading the intersection of Springbank Road and Range Road 34 to accommodate additional turn movements. Movement will be maintained in both directions at all times. Bingham Crossing Road Works

Location: Highway 1 at Range Road 33, Range Road 33 between Commercial Drive and Township Road 250, and Township Road 250 between Range Road 33 and 800 m to the east. (view map)

Timeframe: Spring 2025 to Fall 2026

Description: Completion of the Stage 1 improvements to the Highway 1 and Range Road 33 interchange, including modifications to the on and off ramps. Twinning of Range Road 33 and Township Road 250 adjacent to the Bingham Crossing development. Movement will be maintained in both directions at all times. McKinnon Flats Access (Range Road 274 south of Hwy 22X)

Closure of Symons Valley Road between Mountain View Rd and 144 Ave

Timeframe: City of Calgary is working with all parties to get the road opened as soon as possible.

Description: Symons Valley Road between Mountain View Rd and 144 Ave is closed currently for a final post-construction inspection by the City of Calgary, and Shaganappi Trail between Township Road 261A and 144 Avenue is connected. All traffic shall follow and obey the construction signs and Variable Message Boards. Inquiries can be directed to Cole Piechotta, City of Calgary at 403-998-4804.


Highway 22 Detour for SR1 Bridge Construction

Location: Highway 22 between Township Road 242 and Springbank Road (view map)

Timeframe: May 2, 2022 to October 20, 2025

Description: Construction on the Highway 22 bridge detour will begin the week of May 30 to allow for bridge construction along the original Highway 22 road alignment over the future diversion channel.

The detour will be built on the east side of Highway 22. Bridge construction is located midway between Springbank Road and Highway 8, along Highway 22.

Northbound and southbound traffic speeds will be reduced to 50km/h through the detour to ensure the safety of commuters and construction crews. The public can expect minor delays for short periods during the construction of the detour and in particular, for the construction and paving of the tie-ins, before the traffic shift is implemented.

During paving of the detour, flaggers will be present to assist in directing traffic, and to limit travel disruptions.

Once implemented, the detour posted speed reduction will be 50km/h for approximately 500 metres of Highway 22.
