County Releases 2023 Annual Report

The Rocky View County 2023 Annual Report (PDF) provides a fulsome review of activities, accomplishments, and account of how the County has pursued the objectives outlined in Council’s revised, 2023 – 2027 Strategic Plan.
The report also provides an overview of the County’s financial position and includes highlights of accomplishments from the past year, such as:
- A rejuvenation of Council’s Strategic Plan that will lead the County to 2027.
- The approval of a new five-year Economic Development Strategy establishing a strategic pathway for business growth and regional development.
- Enhancements and improvements within the Planning Department’s service delivery through customer feedback, process refinement, and IT solutions.
- Renewed Special Event Application Process resulting in a streamlined approach for special event requests and improved, responsive customer service.
- Implementation of a Service Capacity Project aimed at enhancing the County’s service delivery approach, improving communication with residents and businesses about our services, and increasing transparency and decision-making.
- Establishment of two Joint Planning Areas, representing collaborations between Rocky View County, Calgary, and Airdrie, as well as the County, Calgary, and Chestermere.
- Significant enhancements to long-term financial forecasting and public engagement strategies, ensuring that the County remains on a progressive path moving forward.
- Site improvements to the Bragg Creek Transfer Site.
- Twinning of Highway 566; CrossIron Drive East twinning; Woodland Road expansion and paving; Aventerra pathway overlay; Rural Road 40 – Springbank Road to Township Road 250 paving (with SR1 support); and Township Road 245 – Road extension to Rural Road 41 (with SR1 support).
- Increase in funding support for community-based organizations and associations. The County received 60 per cent more applications compared to the previous year, resulting in the allocation of more than $6.1 million.
