Calgary Stampede Names 2025 Farm Family Award Winners
Tuesday, July 8, 2025
Each year the Calgary Stampede receives nominations from municipal districts for outstanding agriculture producers from southern Alberta. On July 6, 2025, the Calgary Stampede announced this year’s BMO Farm Family winners, including the Woolliams Family. The Woolliams’ were the recipients of the 2024 Rocky View County Master Farm Family award.
The Calgary Stampede awards program was created to promote a renewed urban-rural relationship and to recognize outstanding southern Alberta farm families who best typify the value of the family farmer to our society. The program focuses on recognizing the contribution to the enhancement of quality of life as a family unit. The families are brought to the Stampede for the BMO Farm Family Awards, which includes a reception, greetings from Alberta's Minister of Agriculture, brunch, awards presentation, and family photograph session. The winning families are then treated to an afternoon Stampede Rodeo performance.
The Woolliams’ are a multi-generational family who run a grain farm west of Airdrie. They have been committed to advancing their operations and creating new technologies to maximize operational efficiencies and create new production strategies. Larry and Kortney, along with their children Paige and Trace, are carrying on the family farm with Larry’s parents Roy and Diana. Woolliams Farms are also the hosts of an annual charity golf tournament to raise funds for mental health focusing on providing support and resources; knowledging those who struggle in the agriculture industry.
The Calgary Stampede awards 19 families from each district south of Red Deer every year. To learn more about the program visit, Calgary Stampede | BMO Farm Family Awards.
