Rocky View County Presents 2024 Master Farm Family Award to Woolliams Farms Ltd.

Woolliams Farms Ltd. is owned and operated by 5th-generation grain and hay farmers, Larry and Kortney, along with their children, Paige and Trace. They are the latest winners of the esteemed Master Farm Family Award. Candidates for the Master Farm Family Award are nominated by peers in the community, and applications are reviewed by Rocky View County’s Agricultural Services Board. The family-run operation has roots dating back to 1890 when the Woolliams family started one of the first local dairy farms in the Rocky View County area. Since then, the farm has evolved into an impressive progressive grain farming operation. Learn more here about how precision ag technology is helping save them operation money and improve planting practices on their farm.

Larry and Kortney have raised their children on the family farm and actively participate in community activities, such as the Airdrie 4-H Beef and Sheep Club. Their children have been members for over 10 years, winning many grand and reserved championships, and Larry has served as the club's Project Leader for seven years. They are also dedicated supporters of the 4-H on Parade livestock auction and purchase animals each year to support the 4-H kids.

Additionally, Woolliams Farms Ltd. is a member of the Airdrie Chamber of Commerce, focusing on promoting the agriculture sector to educate people about where their food comes from and how high-tech farms and ranches really are.

Rocky View County congratulates Woolliams Farms Ltd. for their hard work, determination, and unwavering commitment to family and community.

The County has presented this award since 1989, to a Rocky View County ranch or farm family demonstrating excellence in community service, agricultural business and industry involvement, team farm management, and technical farm production and sustainability practices.
