Highline Mushrooms Presents to County Council

On April 18, 2024, Rocky View County welcomed executives from Highline Mushrooms to present on Council on their world-class facility located near Crossfield in Rocky View County. Highline Mushrooms is the only mushroom grower in Alberta and the largest in Canada is part of the global network of Sumitomo Corporation headquartered in Japan.  

The presentation was given by Highline’s Chief Executive Officer Jose Cambon, Rob MacKay – Vice President, Farm Operations West, and Nobuto Ikeda – Vice President, Business Operations & Development. Also, in attendance was special guests from the Consulate-General of Japan in Calgary Mr. Atsushi Shimabara and Ms. Robyn Srimarthandan. (As pictured below with Rocky View County Councillors.) 

Highline Mushrooms employs 240 and operates using very advanced technologies to stay competitive. In 2020 they were the first in world to introduce the Axis Harvesting System and have since partnered with 4AG to develop a fully autonomous, vision-guided mushroom harvesting robot.
