Agroforestry for Climate Change Mitigation

University of Alberta researchers have been studying the role of trees in the agricultural landscape (in the form of agroforestry systems), in carbon sequestration, and reducing greenhouse gas emissions. Their eight-year agroforestry project is ending and they would like to report back to the producers the findings of their research.

In this project, researchers have examined the role of trees in agroforestry systems, and of the application of biochar and manure compost to agricultural soils in affecting carbon sequestration (storage in the soil and vegetation), carbon stability, and greenhouse gas emissions.

Join this Zoom meeting to hear from multiple presenters who will summarize the findings from this project.
