Rocky View County Joins Canadian Badlands Tourism Partnership

Rocky View County is pleased to announce it is joining the Canadian Badlands Tourism partnership. As a member municipality, the County gains access to funding opportunities and regional marketing initiatives that will promote Rocky View County as a tourism destination for local, national, and international visitors.

“I look forward to promoting the diversity of Rocky View County as a member of the Canadian Badlands Tourism partnership,” says Reeve Greg Boehlke. “The Badlands region is known for its stunning landscapes, historical significance, and cultural richness, and I’m delighted the County is now a partner in promoting this diversity.”

Founded in 2006, Canadian Badlands Tourism is the largest municipal tourism partnership in Canada, with over 60 municipal members across East Central and Southeastern Alberta. Its primary goal is to establish the Canadian Badlands as an iconic tourist destination.

Local businesses can be listed in an online directory that is shared across multiple marketing channels. With numerous world-class tourism attractions located in Rocky View County, joining the Canadian Badlands Tourism partnership will help the County attract complementary businesses, such as hotels, in order to extend visitor stays and enhance the tourist experience in the region.

“Retail and entertainment businesses in Rocky View County see over 10 million visitors a year. Our membership in Canadian Badlands will add to their estimated 5.5 million annual visitors. Under the world-class Canadian Badlands banner, all businesses within the Canadian Badlands partnership will benefit – a rising tide raises all ships,” says David Kalinchuk, Manager of Economic Development for Rocky View County.
