Soil Health Field Day

Learn more about the many factors that can affect the health of soil among pastures and farmlands at this one-day workshop on Friday, July 6. Topics include soil carbon storage and greenhouse gas emission from tame and native pasture, effect of drought on dry mixed-grass plant communities, soil biological health in rangelands of southern Alberta, Downy brome in southern AB grasslands, cow patty critters – an overview of the insects associated with cattle dung on the Prairies, recovery of foothills Rough fescue plant community from long term heavy grazing, history of research at Stavely as well as litter impacts on rangeland vegetation and soil health.
