Updates to Agricultural Grant Programs

This week, changes were announced to the On-Farm Energy Management grant. The maximum was raised from $50,000 to $750,000 at the 70% cost share level, and would apply to projects from April 1, 2013. This may help with any eligible activities done in the past or being considering now, to make operations more energy efficient.

Applications are being reviewed as received so if you are interested, you’re encouraged to have a look at the terms and conditions and apply as soon as possible.

In addition, $1 million was announced for the Accelerating Agricultural Innovation Program, to assist processors in adopting energy efficient technologies. We don’t have the program terms and conditions yet but will send that information out once it’s available.
