Rocky View County Shares 'What we Heard' Report 2024

Thank you to all residents and businesses who shared their views on County priorities during the public engagement on the proposed Budget 2024! A total of 419 comments were shared by residents online and at County Open houses throughout the spring and summer. 

Additionally, 105 residents participated in an online survey to determine satisfaction with service levels provided by the County. Using our online budget allocator tool, 33 residents shared completed mock budgets. 

We appreciate all residents who took the time to share their views. The more the County understands resident’s priorities and concerns, the better efforts can align with the views of residents when delivering services and programs. 

A summary of what we heard is available below:

Interested residents who wish to learn more about the budgeting process at Rocky View County are invited to an information session with members of the finance team. Residents will be encouraged to share their thoughts on the budget process, the structure of past budget documents, and highlight any areas or issues of concern.

Quick Facts: 

  • Phase 1 of budget engagement took place over the spring and summer of 2023 and included an online survey, an open forum discussion, and a budget-balancing tool where residents could balance tax revenues themselves.  
  • A total of 419 comments were shared with the County, in addition to 105 completed surveys and 33 mock budgets.
