Thursday, January 28, 2016
Rocky View County Council has voted to accept $32.8 million in funding from the Government of Alberta to complete flood defenses that protect Rocky Viewers living in Bragg Creek.
The County will now engage engineering support that will further develop a Bragg Creek flood mitigation strategy. Throughout the process, the County will be updating Bragg Creek residents on the different stages of the project and will present detailed project information at a public information session.
At this time, specific dates and time frames for next steps have not been set, since the County and the Province must formalize the agreement. The overall project will be undertaken in phases, and is expected to take several years to complete.
