Community Futures Wild Rose Launches Fourth Quadrant of “Heart of Our Community” Campaign

Community Futures Wild Rose is thrilled to launch the fourth quadrant of the Heart of Our Community campaign. Starting September 1st to November 30th, 2025, residents in Chestermere, Langdon, Dalemead, Carseland, and surrounding area can begin submitting nominations. This initiative aims to honour the local businesses that form the foundation of our communities.

Recent business walks in the region revealed that many local businesses continue to face challenges due to the increase in online shopping that began during the pandemic. Our local small businesses are crucial to our community—they sponsor local sports teams and support numerous events. Unlike major online retailers, these businesses actively invest in our community. Let’s unite to celebrate and support those who enhance our community life.

Nomination Process
The Heart of Our Community campaign provides a platform to acknowledge these essential contributors to our local economy and community spirit. Know a business that deserves recognition? Visit https://wildrose.albertacf.com/wildrose-programs/heart-of-our-community to submit your nomination from September 1st to November 30th, 2025,. Nominations celebrate local businesses. Anyone—whether a resident or a fellow business—can submit a nomination.

Amber Link, Board Chair of Community Futures Wild Rose, emphasized, "Local businesses are the true heart of our communities, continually stepping up to support sports teams, community events, and countless local initiatives—investments that larger online retailers simply don’t.

They create employment opportunities that fuel our local economy and opportunities that shape the lives of so many residents. Our hope is that the Heart of Our Community campaign will serve as a powerful reminder of how crucial it is to support small, local businesses. Without them, we lose more than just jobs and services, but the very spirit that keeps our communities thriving.”
