CP Train Derailment August 1

At approximately 2:00 PM on Friday, August 1, 2025, Rocky View County Fire Services responded to a CP Rail train derailment located south of Langdon, near the intersection of Range Road 272 and Township Road 222.
Six rail cars, believed to be carrying grain, derailed into an adjacent field. The incident is not impacting any roadways, and there is no threat to public safety. No evacuation or decontamination procedures were required.
CP Rail has assumed lead responsibility for managing the incident. As of 3:00 PM, CP began releasing emergency services support from the scene. No injuries have been reported, and there are no hazardous materials involved.
Rocky View Fire Services continues to monitor but there will be no more updates unless something changes.
