Household hazardous waste and agricultural roundup dates posted – Rocky View County has you covered

Summer is a great time to clean up the yard. With special collections programs offered by the County, residents can bring paint, empty chemical containers, twine, and much more - for free, safe disposal at the following Roundups! 

Upcoming Hazardous Waste Roundups: 

  • August 13, 1 PM – 7 PM - Balzac, Chuck Wagon 
  • August 20, 1 PM – 7 PM  - Springbank, Transfer Site 
  • August 27, 1 PM – 7 PM  - Springhill, Transfer Site 
  • September 10, 1 PM – 7 PM  - Bearspaw, Chuck Wagon 
  • September 17, 1 PM – 7 PM  - Conrich, Waste & Recycling Centre 
  • September 27, 9 AM – 3 PM  - Elbow Valley, Fire Station 

What is Household Hazardous Waste? 

Many paints, cleaners, automobile care products, solvents, pesticides, herbicides, stains and varnishes contain toxic or hazardous components. Once exposed to the environment, these substances may threaten living organisms. Small quantities accumulate over time and contaminate the air, water, and soil.P roducts that are flammable, corrosive, explosive, or toxic should not be disposed of in landfills or sewage systems.  

Ag Recycling Roundups

Have you been stock piling your plastict twine, grain bags, tires, wire, Lick tubs, electronics & batteries, oil & filters, unused pesticides and other household hazardous waste products. Well bring them to the nearest Ag Roundup. 

All events take place from 9am to 3pm on the following dates: 

  • July 2 - Madden, Chuck Wagon 
  • July 30 - Bottrel, General Store 
  • August 6 - Delacour, Community Hall 
  • September 3 - Jumping Pound, Community Hall
