Fire Services Welcomes New Team Members

On Friday, May 23, 2025,  Rocky View County proudly celebrated the graduation of 20 new part-time firefighters who have joined our Fire Services team.

Rocky View County Fire Services operates as a composite team, comprising full-time, part-time, and paid-per-call firefighters who serve across seven different stations.

Following two weeks of intensive training, we are pleased to welcome eight new firefighters to the Balzac Station, four to Elbow Valley, four to Bearspaw, and four to Springbank.

As our community continues to grow, so does the demand for fire services. The increasing population and the volume of people working in and traveling through the county present ongoing challenges and opportunities for our team.

Our firefighters respond to a wide range of emergencies and services, including motor vehicle collisions, grass and structure fires, medical emergencies, hazardous material containment, water and ice rescues, permitting, fire code compliance, prevention, public education, and fire investigations. Occasionally, they even help with the occasional cat stuck in a tree.

We are proud to welcome our new team members and thank them for their commitment to keeping our community safe.
