Branch Collection Events - FireSmart Your Property
Tuesday, May 20, 2025
Fire Services along with Waste & Recycling Services are expanding the opportunity for residents in Rocky View County to FireSmart their property this spring, summer and fall! This means increasing collection times for residents to bring loads of branches for the County to chip and remove.
The County's transfer sites accepts branches from May 1 to Oct. 31 as part of the seasonal collection program. For details on each transfer site go here.
In 2025, there will be 4 additional days planned to have transfer sites open focusing on large volume branch collection.
What is special about the branch collection events is that residents can bring big loads and dump them in a pile versus throwing them into bins. We hope these days encourage residents to FireSmart their property!
What is FireSmart? It’s a term coined to describe taking efforts to reduce fire fuel sources near your home so that embers don’t catch if a wildfire comes near your property. This includes removing deadfall, cleaning gutters, removing piles of wood next to your home. It is an educational program to teach residents what they can do to lessen the damage caused by fire.
