Rocky View County Awards $1,373,205 in Community Funding to Organizations

Rocky View County’s Recreation Governance Committee Approves $588,395 in Operational Funding
It takes many hands to make a community vibrant, harmonious, and healthy. Non-profit organizations are the heart and soul of most communities. They deliver a service; they provide connection and commandry and they bring joy into our world. Rocky View County recognizes the importance of funding support to ensure our community organizations can thrive. On December 4, 2024, Rocky View County’s Recreation Governance Committee who oversees the community funding programs, approved the following organizations that serve County residents:
- Bragg Creek Snowbirds Seniors Fellowship provides programs and activities to facilitate the needs of seniors in the Bragg Creek area by providing fitness and exercise programs, yoga classes, potluck and catered dinners, game nights, weekly open house for games and crafts, knitting for charity, etc. The land is owned by the County and the facility is operated by the Bragg Creek Snowbirds Seniors Fellowship.
Division 1 - Bragg Creek Snowbirds Seniors Fellowship $ 22,000
- Swamp Donkey Musical Theatre Society is a non-profit performing arts organization in Bragg Creek that provides theatrical education and performance opportunities to foster skill development and build community.

- The Jumping Pound Community Hall Society was formally established in 2010 to manage and operate the historical 95-year-old community hall. The community hall serves as a central gathering place for residents and the public for celebrations, recreational activities, and events. The Jumping Pound Community Hall is operated by the Jumping Pound Community Hall Society and is owned by the County.

- Kiyooka Ohe Arts Centre Society The Kiyooka Ohe Arts Centre Society operates and maintains the Kiyooka Ohe Arts Centre and Sculpture Park. The Arts Centre and Sculpture Park offer a welcoming space to experience contemporary art in nature. The Society strives to preserve the land in which they operate, engage the local community, and connect under-represented groups with contemporary art and artists.
Division 2 - Kiyooka Ohe Arts Centre $ 120,000
- The Springbank Heritage Club provides a community facility for the social, cultural, educational, and recreational needs of seniors and other residents. The facility is operated by the Springbank Heritage Club and is owned by the County.
Division 2 - Springbank Heritage Club $ 36,000
- Beaupre Community Association provides opportunities for residents to gather in a highquality venue, share stories and knowledge, and celebrate the rural/western lifestyle.
Division 3 - Beaupre Community Association $ 4,050
- The Keoma Community Society maintains the Keoma Community Hall, playground, and baseball diamonds for the use of the community and surrounding area. The Keoma Community Hall is owned and operated by the Keoma Community Society.
Division 5 - Keoma Community Society $ 9,000
- The Meadowlark Trail Society operates and maintains a 9.75 kilometre portion of the TransCanada Trail known as the Meadowlark Trail, to provide a safe, affordable, and accessible recreational asset within the community. The Meadowlark Trail is maintained by the Meadowlark Trail Society and is owned by Alberta Trailnet.
Division 5 - Meadowlark Trail Society $ 5,000
- Pioneer Acres operates a museum that presents artifacts and history from rural communities of Western Canada’s Pioneering era. The club encourages the involvement of the younger generation in their quests to make history come alive.
Division 5 - Pioneer Acres Plowmen & Threshermen's Club of Alberta $ 50,000
- The Indus Minor Hockey Association operates under the umbrella of Hockey Alberta and serves players aged 4 to 18 in the southeast region of the County. The Association is dedicated to developing hockey skills and knowledge among players, coaches, and families, while promoting the core values of fun and fair play.

- North Rocky View Community Links Society offers a variety of services and programs that address community issues such as meeting basic needs, financial and/or emotional strain, employment issues, family violence, or legal issues.
Airdrie North Rocky View Community Links $ 1,615
- The Nose Creek Valley Museum Society operates the Nose Creek Valley Museum. The museum collects meaningful historical objects from the continually evolving Nose Creek Valley area and invites the public to share these objects through education and discovery.

- The Chestermere Regional Community Association operates the Chestermere Recreation Centre that houses facilities such as ice arenas, curling rinks, soccer fields, ball diamonds, and a youth center.
Chestermere Regional Community Association $ 160,000
- Route 22 Artist Collective Ltd. is a volunteer-driven visual arts organization that operates a non-profit gallery, provides arts programming for its members and the community, and hosts special events and collaborative projects and presentations with other arts organizations.

Rocky View County Recreation Governance Committee Approves $784,810 in Capital Expenditure Requests from Local Organizations
Capital funding requests support expenditures that may create a future benefit or fix an asset such as a trailer, building, furnace, or roof; including both interior and exterior upgrades to buildings and land. The following was presented on Wednesday December 4, 2024.
- Division 2 Springbank Park For All Seasons Agricultural Society will receive $583,330 for a Curling Rink Refrigerated Cement Floor Slab Replacement.
- Division 5 Dalroy UFA Association will receive $27,375 for a Playground Pad .
- Division 5 Delacour Agricultural Society and Community Association will receive $7,255 Fire Alarm Replacement.
- Division 5 Golden Rod Community Association will receive $8,830 for Roof and Eavestrough Replacement.
- Division 5 Pioneer Acres Plowmen and Threshermen's Club of Alberta will receive $112,520 for Museum Facility Upgrades.
- Cochrane’s Frank Wills Memorial Society will receive $45,500 for Community Kitchen Renovation $45,500.
