Rocky View County Fire Services responds to train derailment

Rocky View County Fire Services responded to a train derailment on highway 806 near highway 72, approximately three kilometers north of Beiseker (1 mile), Friday morning. Crews are on scene assisting with security and containment. No injuries have been reported. The derailment was isolated to a farmer's field and no roads have been impacted and are open. 14 cars containing household goods and empty petroleum cars seem to be impacted. There have been no leaks and no hazards to report. The scene is secure and monitored by the RCMP. CN Rail is managing the incident and the cleanup. Rocky View Fire Service crews remain on scene for assistance. Fortis is responding to the damaged power lines.
