On Tuesday, January 28, 2020, both the Municipal District of Bighorn and Rocky View County held public hearings to consider the Intermunicipal Development Plan. Both Councils gave Second Reading to the Plan, approving it in principle.

Prior to final adoption, the Plan required review by the Calgary Metropolitan Regional Board (CMRB). On February 24, 2020, the County received notice of the CMRB’s approval of the Intermunicipal Development Plan. Third and final reading of the Plan will be considered by Council on March 10, 2020.
