Council to Decide on South Conrich Conceptual Scheme and Re-designation at July 14 Meeting

Rocky View County Council voted on June 25 to consider second and third readings of Bylaw C-7957-2019 (Conceptual Scheme Amendment – South Conrich Conceptual Scheme) and Bylaw C-7959-2019 (Re-designation Item – Ranch and Farm Two to Business/Business Campus and Public Services District – South Conrich Conceptual Scheme) at their regular Council meeting on July 14, 2020.

On June 23, Council held a lengthy public hearing on the two bylaws. Once the public hearings were completed, Council originally voted to table the bylaws pending a report on water service. However, such a report is not a part of the land use re-designation process under the Municipal Government Act (MGA), which all Alberta municipalities must follow.

With the public hearings on the bylaws closed, Council will now make their decisions on July 14. Should the bylaws pass second and third readings, any matters concerning water service will be considered at a future date through different processes detailed in the MGA.
