Donation Sheds Available at County Transfer Sites

The donation shed at the Irricana Transfer Site

Users of the transfer sites in Bragg Creek, Irricana, and Langdon have a new option for donating their unwanted textiles and household items. Rocky View County has teamed up with Diabetes Canada to collect small items such as clothing and linens, housewares, books, toys, and knick-knacks in the donation sheds located at each site.

Residents are asked to package hard items, such as plates, small appliances, and toys in boxes before bringing them to the donation shed; all other items may be packaged in plastic bags or boxes. Items placed in the shed will be collected by Diabetes Canada, with proceeds going to support the charity’s work. Residents are reminded that scrounging and removing items from a shed is not allowed.

The donation sheds are a convenient way for residents to divert waste from the landfill and support a charitable cause at the same time. Every action counts. Look for the shed the next time you visit your local transfer site.
