Council Decisions: June 1, 2021

Here is a brief summary of the decisions of Rocky View County Council at the June 1, 2021 Council Meeting. This is a general overview of decisions only. General Business

  • Council approved First Reading of Road Closure Bylaw C-8143-2021 to close a portion of the road allowance located north of the Highway 8 and Range Road 32 junction extending north to Elbow River Drive, to allow the Applicant to purchase the road allowance. Bylaw C-8143-2021 will be forwarded to the Minister of Transportation for approval.
  • Council tabled Second Reading of Bylaw C-7991-2020, to adopt the Ascension Conceptual Scheme to provide a policy framework to guide future redesignation, subdivision and development proposals within SW/SE-19-25-02-W05M. Council directed Administration to assess the proposed amendments regarding emergency access and transportation routing, and to return with recommendations for Council’s consideration at the June 15, 2021 Council Meeting.
  • Council approved a Notice of Motion to be discussed at the June 8 Council Meeting, directing Administration to begin quarterly reporting of all Rocky View County Councillor expenses on a per-Councillor basis, retroactively to the beginning of this term of Council in October 2017. This reporting is to be accessible on the County website in order to increase public transparency, accountability, trust, and information access, while decreasing FOIP requests.
