Governance & Priorities Committee Decisions: April 2, 2019

Here is a brief summary of the decisions of Rocky View County Council at the April 2, 2019 Governance & Priorities Committee Meeting. This is a general overview only. General Business

  • A group called “Stop the Stench” made a presentation asking the County to adopt an odour bylaw. The presentation was received for information.
  • The Committee received, for information, a report from Administration on the costs and standards of snow and ice control on sidewalks in the County.
  • The Committee received, for information, a report from Administration on road surface stabilization best practices.
  • The Committee received a report on a Right to Farm Policy aimed at ensuring agricultural producers can engage in “Generally Accepted Agricultural Practices” as defined in the Alberta Agricultural Operations Practices Act. The policy protects compliant agricultural operations from nuisance complaints. The Committee directed Administration to make a minor change, and the policy will return to a future meeting for approval.
