Dog Licensing

All dogs over three months of age and living in Rocky View County must be licensed. Although licences do not expire, they do renew on an annual basis.

UPDATE: As of January 2023, dog licence fees will be reinstated in Rocky View County.


Dogs at Large

Dogs are considered at large when they are not under the restraint, care and control of their owner. Dog owners must keep control of their dog when off their property in both rural and urban areas.


Responsible Pet Ownership

Rocky View County promotes responsible pet ownership through educating the public on animal related issues and enforcement of the County’s Animal Control Bylaw. Residents are asked to do their part in ensuring their animals are healthy pets and companions.
